Biting Off More Than You Can Chew

If a friend needs your help, or your boss asks you to spearhead a new project isn't it so hard to say no? Our eagerness to please and drive for success can cause us to keep adding to our already overwhelming pile of commitments. With the busy lives we lead it is easy to bite off more than we can chew.

"Unless a man undertakes more than he can possibly do, he will never do all that he can."
Henry Drummond
It is important to expand our horizons and get out of our comfort zone, but there can definitely be a fine line between successfully managing and keeping your commitments and letting yourself and others down by falling short. Sometimes you have to ask yourself, "Can I really give 100% to everything I have committed to? Or have I taken on so much that I can only give a half hearted attempt at best?"

How many times have you completed a task thinking that it is good enough, but knowing if you had more time, the result could and would be so much better? Who do you want to be known as, the person who is always willing to help, but doesn't always come through, or the one who always gives 100% whenever he is able to help?
