Perry on Life's Stories

Our lives consist of a compilation of stories. From our earliest ability to recollect, we recall in stories. These stories are the root of our limiting beliefs, about how money doesn't grow on trees, how we think of our relationships, how we have acted on our promptings of gratitude or any other belief that we have.

Whenever we gather at a graduation reunion, a wedding, a house party or a funeral it is inevitable that the conversation will turn to -- hey do you remember when..........? Take a moment and think about your favorite memory, your first car, your first kiss or your first expression of anger. Any of these will trigger a story in your mind. If you were to talk about any of them it would be in the form of a story.

This is no different than your mind's ability to think in pictures. That is inevitable as well. If I ask you about the Statue of Liberty you will have no other ability than to picture it. If I ask you to think of your first childhood memory it will be in the form of a story.

Just like we can control how our mind pictures things, we can control the stories of our lives. Allowing yourself to steer what is happening to you in a positive mindset will allow you to have a positive story about whatever the occasion is.

Positive Mindsets equal Positive Stories!!
