I find it fascinating how a young eagle learns how to fly. Once it reaches a certain age, it's mother will persuade and even push it out of the nest. At which time the young eaglet will rapidly flap its wings until it either takes flight, or it's mother or father swoop down and save it right before it hits the ground.
So what would happen to the eagle if the mother never persuaded it out of the comfort of the nest? It would never learn to fly and therefore it would not survive. One day it's parents will be gone and it will be left alone to an inevitable death.
What's holding you back? What is your nest? Is the fear of being on your own keeping you in an abusive relationship? Maybe a fear of failure is keeping you in your dead end job instead of pursuring your life long dream of owning your own business? Are you getting annoyed with your family and friends because they keep pushing you? Don't they know you aren't ready yet?
The truth is your family and friends only want the best for you. They believe in you and know you are capable of soaring to great heights. The true question is when will right now be the right time for you to take action?
The young eaglet is only given so many opportunities to fly before it's parents will stop rescuing him. It is estimated that up to 40% of eaglets die before they ever fly. It is thought that confidence is the difference between those that fly and those that die.
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."
Henry David Thoreau
